On July 10th, 2009 at 7:00am a luxurious mega-yacht Seabourn Odyssey called at Sochi during her first inauguration voyage. And Sochi was on the itinerary of this cruise liner. Foreign tourists were offered sightseeing excursions around the city and its vicinities:

• Mount Akhun and Yew and Box-tree grove

• Mount Akhun and Stalin’s villa

• Tea plantations

• City museums

The guests got acquainted with the history of the city, the traditions of Russian tea-ceremony, tasted fresh-baked pies. The visitors enjoyed the beauty of the summer capital of Russia.

The yacht carried 418 passengers, mainly the Americans and the Germans. The whole day was at their disposal to get to know the city better, taste traditional Russian and Caucasian cuisine and to stroll along the waterfront. At 6:00pm the yacht departed from Sochi and headed for Batumi (Georgia).
